SHOULD I BE TAKING OMEGA 3 SUPPLEMENT?

what are omega 3's and where to get them from?

Omega 3 fatty acids are essential fatty acids that our body can't make, therefore, we have to obtain them from foods. Foods that are high on omega 3's are fatty fish, shell fish, flaxseeds and few more seeds and nuts.

5 omega 3 benefits that are backed up by research:

1-Supports a healthy heart.

2-Fights inflammation.

3- Relieves the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis.

4-Important for fetal growth and development.

5- Has a possitive effect on diseases of the brain and eye.

The omega 3 to 6 ratio and What does it mean?

Omega 3's sources mostly come from seafoods and flaxseeds, however omega 6 fatty acids are abundant in our modern diet. They are in most plants, plants oils, eggs and some nuts.

A healthy ratio of omega 6 to 3 is 4:1. Means, to stay healthy we need to be eating food containing omega 6 only 3 times more than that of omega 3's, and because of our highly containing omega 6 modern diets, its highly recommended that we start taking omega 3 supplemet or eat seafood 3 times a week

Things to consider when you choose the right supplement.

1-DHA and EPA are the essential fatty acids that yu need from a supplement so always check that the amount of DHA and EPA is the highest amount of ingredient in the supplement.

2-Choose a supplement that is made from pure fish oil

3-Preferably the fish is wild caught in cold-water and from a sustainable source.

4-Try to choose a supplement that have run lab test and/or medical studies on the product.

Warning! always read the label

Supplements often have misleading information on the front label. Always check the back label to determine the correct amount of DHA and EPA available in the products along with any added ingredients.
